ok my dad went road bike shopping we saw a le mond etape womens bicycle and the employele helping us did say it was a womens bike so we bought 2 of them for my dad and i and so we have them but i looked it up and its a womens bike! im so mad because now i told my dad and hes like so i spend all this money on you and you complaining.
so im pissed off and i was wondering should i take it back and give them crap for selling us womens bikes or keep them? next question whats the difference between womens bicycles and mens??

You were told it was a women’s bike and you bought it. So what the hell is your complaint???
All I know is the seats are different thats all; as long as the bike fits the rider Womens seats are a lot wider at the back I dont know why and mens seats are narrower It takes`a fair mileage to break a seat in .It is usually very uncomfortable for a start
The seats on the mens bike has a spot for the manly parts to go. =] That’s about all I know though

You seen that they were womens bikes and you were told that they were womens bikes, then you buy them knowing that they are womens bikes but you don’t want to buy womens bikes.
Why did you buy them?
Why should the shop take them back?
Why should the shop take ‘crap’ from you for this?
It sounds like you bought them with full knowledge of what they were.
the main difference between a man’s bike and a woman’s is top tube length in proportion to the seat tube. women’s bodies tend to have shorter upper body and longer legs than men. a woman’s frame has a shorter top tube in a given size than a mans frame would, but other than that, they are exactly the same. all you have to do is go to a longer stem if you find you come up short.
it is a fine bike for getting into cycling. the sora group is a little ify based on reviews, but even there those reviews are split. many say it works fine for them, while others complain about it.

The women’s label is a marketing ploy to get women to buy it.
Fit matters most. Does the bike fit you? Then it’s right.
The biggest differences are the color (women’s is blue, men’s red) and the saddle width. Hey, this blue is a the classic color of a lot of European race bikes. It’s great.
If the saddle hurts, then swap it. Otherwise leave it alone.
The subtle differences are the reach to some components. That’s really about it. You won’t notice the differences.
When the ad says it’s better than what Greg LeMond actually rode himself, they aren’t kidding. You are SO lucky.

I'm totally with you. It's sexist and silly. The women's tour has had, and continues to have, great matches. It seems that somehow in the past few years the powers that be at the networks have gotten it into their heads that the only time women count in tennis is when they're models running around on the court inefficiently collecting balls (Madrid Open), or when it's someone who looks like Sharapova. Heck, I'd like to see more of Feli Lopez, Safin, or Gonzales, but in the men's game it's supposed to be all about skill not looks, but in the women's the reverse. It sucks!

How far are you planning to ride, how fast? what type of bikes do ur friends own? whats the condition of the roads in ur area? you want the wind in ur face, or do you want the headwind blocked? is being comfortable important? how much are you planning on spending for a bike? you want a bike that has good gas mileage? you want a reliable bike? a bike that requires less maintenance? a bike thats easy to ride, or hard to ride? you planning on riding in the rain? how many miles per year you planning on riding a bike?
Answer all those questions and I and others will pick out the perfect bike for you.
too much size difference- wont look right
I lived in Holland for 4 years and I would say YES and NO. People (and I included) did ride their bikes to neighboring cities that were maybe 30 to 45 minutes away. But I don't know of anyone who would ride their bike for 3 or 4 hours. They would simply take the public transportation that is so readily available. My father and I did travel for 8 hours on our bikes in one day, but that because we really needed to visit someone and we didn't have the money to take any other kind of transportation.
