ok so i went to a couple local stores and tried out all kinds of mountain bikes with the shocks in the front and back, after looking at well maby 10 and sitting on and riding them all just a little i picked out one that fit me perfectly.. a cannondale.... not knowing anything about bikes i really felt that this bike fit me better than some of the bigger bikes.. i then went to go read more about the bike on the tag and it was called a Scalpel Féminine. so i knew it was a womens bike but it fit me well. I tried the less expensive model too the F3 and it was great. anyways the bike was still expensive so i passed but i really liekd the look and feel of the bike. i know its a womens bike but it feels wayy better and more natural for me to ride then the regualr model which seems to have the seat too high and the hadlebars too far away for me to get confortable. also the regular model was in my opinion to hard to steer and between my leggs was very unconfortable plus the regualr model mountain bikes offered by connondale were way more cash then the feminine bikes.. anyway i passed due to the high price so i went to wall mart to check those bikes out... i did find one particualr model by shwinn called teh sidewinder that i did like. there was two models and by this time i knew that one was disighned for women so i tried the mens model out instead but still i went back to the womens bike due to the unconfortable feel of the mens model. S o is it common for shorter smaller guys (im 5 6)with a more curvy frame to ride womens mountain bikes? should i just avilid the womens bikes all together and try to find a smaller mens bike? And if i did buy the womens bike do you think that it would be wierd? thanks for the imput everyone.
thanks, the saddle size does make a lot of difference but im sure i could always buy an after market seat if the one that comes with the bike isnt confortable.. soo overall since im a smaller guy with longer leggs a bigger seat and shorter torso should i go for the womans bike? i mean i would but i dont want to buy a bike thats going to make me look stupid. I mean i dont want people thinking im a chick soo does anyone know a unisex bike or a more manly looking womans bike? again thanks for taking the time to answer my stupid question hahah
